At first I thought this sign was a little bossy and perhap somewhat judgemental, stating "Westward Ho!". Then I realized it was just a commemorative shout of encouragement to the thousands of Americans who set out to settle the west across the frontier on the trails that headed westward. The Westward Ho! Motel has been operating since the 1950's with this great neon sign added closer to the 1960's. You can see it on Central Avenue SW, Albuquerque NM
