Hackberry General Store, Hackberry Arizona

info543130

Couldn't pass up an opportunity to stop at the iconic Hackberry General Store. It opened in 1934 with a Conoco gas station that ran until 1978. The only thing left from the original gas station is the pole that used to hold the Conoco sign still standing by the some vintage gas pumps. The famous route 66 artist and Illinois native, Bob Waldmire, purchased the store in 1992 and opened the souvenir shop. There are loads of vintage vehicles and signage outside and the shop is packed with trinkets and memorabilia from the days that the shop was originally open. The shop is located on Historic Route 66 in Hackberry, AZ
