Built in 1953, this motel is still operating under the same name, with the same neon sign. However, the building was much more eye catching back in the day with terra cotta colored paint. Plus the sign had a much more iconic look with a bright lime green accent stripe up the base and a Scottish Tam o'Shanter cap with "Highlander" printed on it, perched on top of the "Motel" part of the neon sign. I though the current sign looked a little like a cloud, but I can see the cap, with it's little ball on top, now that I've seen a photo of the original. Look for the sign and motel on West Route 66 in Williams, AZ
