I was so sad to see this iconic neon sign abandoned and falling apart. Those yellow diamonds, spelling out RESTAURANT are another classic image that is associated with Route 66. The restaurant opened in the 1960's and was originally Lettie's Restaurant. The ownership and named changed to the Route 66 Restaurant in the 80's and was closed in 2019.
