This is a super cool, folk artsy memorial. We had to find a place to park the bike which lead us in through the side and caused us to miss the big gate across the main entrance so we didn't realize the attraction was not open. That being the case, we went exploring and found many unique concrete and rock monuments, statues and artwork as well as a beautiful bath house that was being restored. The artist, Larry Baggett, created the memorial as a tribute to the Native Americans who walked the trail of tears across his property. The whole place has an eerie peaceful feeling. We found ourselves there for much longer than we intended. On the way out, we ran into a really nice lady named Marie who explained that she and some local people were working to restore Larry's work and vision for the property. She also said we should come back when they were open so we could see the artwork and especially the bath house. We didn't have the heart to tell her that we didn't realize it was closed and we'd already seen them. Oops..... You can see Larry's self-portrait sculpture at the entrance on State Highway D in Jerome, MO
