The State Line Cafe & Gas Station and the Longhorn Motel built in 1953 and 1955 were built right on the state line betweeen Texas and New Mexico. The sign in the photo used to read "Last Stop In Texas" on the westbound side and "First Stop In Texas" on the east bound side of Route 66. The motel is behind the cafe and gas station and contained 13 guest rooms. They were operated until the mid 1970's. Just before the pavement ends and continues on as a dirt road in New Mexico, you'll see these abandoned buildings on Route 66 in Glenrio, TX
