This was the second giant cow on a sign we'd seen in two days, and it did get my attention but I wondered why a giant cow was a good advertisement for a coffee shop? The cow originally sat on top of the building of this full-service restaurant that has been open since 1952. They are famous for their "steak in the rough" which is battered and deep fried steak strips served with french fries, white gravy and a green onion. Apparently, you could get them for $5.99 all day on Tuesday. Probably much higher now with our recent inflation! You can stop by and try some for yourself on Central Avenue NW, Albuquerque NM
