I'm not sure why the ruins of this old motel captured by attention so much. If you look closely, you can see the name, Avon Motel, on the deteriorated neon sign. There were originally 7 built in 1936, but only 3 cabins remain standing. The buildings just looked so sad and I couldn't help but wonder what they must have looked like back in 1936 with vintage cars parked between the cabins and the neon sign coming to life in the early evening as kids ran around the yard after being cooped up in the car all day. Wow, see what I mean, just looking at the photo makes me nostalgic all over again! The remains of this motel are on Route 66 in Afton, OK
