Outhouse with a view, Chesterfield Illinois

One of my favorite things to spot on a road trip is an outhouse. They are usually out in the middle of nowhere but this one was right on IL 111 in Chesterfield, IL. I can explain..... The nicest couple live in the house where this is located. The lady told me that she needed a place to store her flower pots and her husband offered to build her a shed, but she said that she didn't want a shed, she remembered seeing this old outhouse at a farm outside of town and that was what she wanted. So, she asked the farmer if she could buy it. When he got done laughing, he said yes. He told her he had been meaning to burn it down and wasn't sure why he hadn't. He supposed that it was because he was saving it for her. It's a 3-holer; two adult holes in the back and one child hole right inside the door to the right (see photos). I'm thinking it could get pretty crowded in there! I'd never seen an outhouse with a window and the lady told me her husband had added the window. It came from an old house her sister was tearing down. Her husband also had a 66 Dodge Charger in the garage so I'm guessing they love Americana too!
