This sign is the only thing left of a former roadside attraction. It stood much taller in it's original location in Lela and was an advertisement for Lela's Snake Pit which closed in the 1960s. It may just be me, but it sounds more like a warning to stay away rather than a sign beckoning you to visit? You will find the sign in it's preserved location on First Street in McLean, TX
