While the sign is not vintage neon and the place has been restored and updated, I included this motel because of what's inside. We stayed here and loved the 50's/60's look and feel of the rooms. Stepping inside the room was a blast from the past. The decor was very retro and the bed had a coin-operated "Magic Fingers" mechanical relaxation system. And, yes, of course I tried it. A little too jiggly for me but great for some laughs! There was also an old fashioned radio in the room that was playing 50's music as well as some great commericials advertising products from that time. We learned that the motel was the former La Plaza Court and Leatherwood Manor motels which where built in 1947 and 1964. You'll see the motel on Route 66 in Tucumcari, NM
