The second giant we saw in Springfield and the fourth of our trip is the Lauterbach Giant. He once held a tire but for several years now he has held and American Flag. He lost his head, literally, in a tornado in 2006 but was quickly repaired. He stands, and has since 1978, in front of Lauterback Tire and Auto Service on Wabash Avenue in Springfield, IL
