The Wagon Wheel Motel claims to be the oldest continuously operating Motel on Route 66 and I'm sure someone would have called them out on that by now if it weren't! It originally opened in 1935 as the Wagon Wheel Cabins, Cafe & Station and the name was changed to Motel in 1947. The rooms have been modernized but still have the original wooden doors with glass door knobs and the original hardwood floors. There are also two neon signs, one facing travelers from the east and the other from the west. The motel is on East Washington Boulevard in Cuba, MO
