In my travels on the back roads doing genealogy research, I’ve seen hundreds of remnants of times gone by. These iconic symbols of "Americana" inspired me to create this blog. This Magnolia Gas Station started in 1911. The Pegasus symbols on the building were added after Magnolia was purchased by Standard Oil Company and added the brand to their Mobil division in 1959. The station is located on Madden Street in Shamrock, TX
